Super Eagles coach banned

A Super Eagles Coach, Salisu Yusuf has been banned by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after he was found guilty of taking cash bribe from an undercover journalist who posed as an agent.

Yusuf has therefore been handed a year ban, away from football and also a fine of $5,000 having been found guilty.

A video had flooded the media sphere showing Salisu counting money in dollars. After the count, he told the person to consider it done.

The country’s Football Federation therefore asked its Integrity Unit headed by Dr. Christian Emeruwa, to investigate the matter and return with its finding.

In its reaction, the NFF expressed disappointment but promised to do the needful by bringing him to book if found guilty.

Popular opinion within the country is that most coaches involve themselves in the act taking money from players before handing them a call-up to the national team.

This was not earlier proven until the emergence of Salisu’s case which gave the speculation an iota of truth.

Salisu, who is assisting Eagles gaffer, Gernot Rohr led the team for the last edition of the CHAN tournament which has been set aside for home-based players.

\he will be missing in the Eagles team for the 2019 nations Cup.
