However, Gernot Rohr’s men found it tough against the Syli Stars, who had Naby Keita in their ranks from the start.

The breakthrough arrived in the second half after Kenneth Omeruo rose highest to head home Moses Simon’s cross.

Nigeria now has six points, ahead of their final group fixture against debutants, Madagascar
