Shoprite looters arrested, stolen goods recovered

Some of the looters of Shoprite outlets in Lagos, have been paraded after their arrest.

Some angry mobs had attacked South African brands in a retaliation attempt following the recent xenophobia attacks on Nigeria in South Africa.

Gbolaham Olugbemi, the area Commander of Shangotedo stated that a total of 125 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack on Shoprite with 90% of the stolen goods recovered.

According to the police, 112 of out of 125 arrested were found in possession of stolen items and have been charged to court.

The looting of ShopRite outlets in some major places in Lagos and the government has condemned it as a very criminal action.
