It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing away of my little sister, Serena Sara Mehta @cutie_ssm

Serena was always a wild child with a huge heart and untamable personality. She marched to the beat of her own drum and wouldn’t have it any other way. She had so much love to give and was loved by so many in return.

She was an advocate for so many and always wanted to help anyone in need. She believed in shamelessness, openness and equality across all genders, races and socioeconomic groups and fought for the same throughout her life.

She was also passionate about mental health awareness and destigmatization across all communities which is something I hope to continue to work towards in her honor.

All we can do now is hope and pray she is in a better place and that she has found the peace she deserves.

I love you always and hope you never doubted it, Child. Be free.

Just weeks before her death, Serena Sara wrote this about her big sister Meghan on Facebook:

I misss my big sister Meghan Sunayna Mehta so much. She’s my first friend!! the best and longest friend I’ve ever had.

I tend to show my love in a weird way. I’m not too good at the feeling stuff but she knows I’ll beat up anyone that comes in her way.

I wasnt really a sister to her more of an annoying little brother. She put up with the insane child i was, As a little kid i’d bite everything in sight, even her.

I miss her so much and would kill to have those times back together. She had my back the best way she could.

I hope I get to see you soon we need new pictures together!

Meghan had reassured Serena they would see in December only for her to pass in October. Please say a prayer for Sara’s grieving family. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
