Sanwo-Olu approves implementation of N35,000 new minimum wage for workers

Lagos State government said on Wednesday that with effect from November 1st, 2019, public servants in the state are to start enjoying the new minimum wage of N35,000, following approval by it of its implementation.

Recall the Federal Government had fixed payment of N30,000 as new national minimum wage, but the Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has however promised to pay the state workers above the amount.

According to reports, a circular was issued by the Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola on Wednesday stating that Sanwo-Olu, in his determination to improve the welfare and wellbeing of public servants in Lagos State, had graciously approved the implementation of the new minimum wage with effect from 1st November, 2019.
