The fake news reporting Sanath passed away reads:
Man who was knocked down by a Honda Civic vehicle in Canada yesterday sadly dies in hospital.
He passed away this morning – some few hours after sustaining serious injuries following the incident yesterday.
The man has been identified as Sanath Jayasuriya, former Sri Lankan cricketer.The Sri Lankan Embassy in Canada has confirmed the identity of the 49 year old and said they were aware of his visit to Toronto, Canada.
Please do not believe any part of that fake news as Sanath has not been in Canada recently not to talk of getting into an accident.
Sanath said:
“Since last night, there has been fake news of me being hurt in a car accident. The hoax has my family & friends deeply disturbed. Please ignore any such news.”
Sanath is alive and very well in Sri Lanka.
