Sam Smith and his boyfriend Brandon Flynn have reportedly broken up just nine months after they began dating.
The couple started dating shortly before the release of his second record “The Thrill Of It All” in November, but they called time on their romance last week.
A source said;
“Sam and Brandon had a real whirlwind romance. They really fell for each other. But they are both so busy with their careers and unfortunately, things just haven’t worked out.”
Sam who’s said to be “devastated” about the split has deleted a number of loved-up photos of the pair from his social media accounts.
The insider added;
“Sam is obviously devastated. This is the most significant relationship he has ever had. Thankfully he is on tour across the US at the moment which has been a welcome distraction.”
Earlier in the year, Brandon had introduced the Sam Smith to his parents.
Brandon, 24, who plays troubled teen Justin Foley in the hit Netflix drama, spent last weekend partying at New York Pride while Sam stayed just up the coast in Boston ahead of his concert on Tuesday evening.
Speaking about their romance in January, Sam said;
“I’m in a relationship right now and for the first time, I think I deserve to be happy.
“I’m actually asking myself if I’m going to be writing some happy love songs soon.”
He was unlucky in love in 2015 too when he had a short-lived relationship with actor Jonathan Zeizel.
His debut album In “The Lonely Hour,” written about unrequited love, sold more than 12million copies and won him four Grammys.
