Days after being filmed slapping the hands of a woman who grabbed his hands, Pope Francis jokingly asked a nun if she won’t bite him before he kissed her.
Pope Francis, the leader of the Roman Catholic church, kissed a nun on the cheek, after jokingly asking her if she won’t bite him, seemingly in reference to the incident where his hand was grabbed by a supposed fan last week.
On Wednesday, while greeting a crowd of people before his weekly General Audience, the pontiff was stopped by a nun, who asked if she could have a kiss.
“Bacio, Papa!” the nun said, which means “A kiss, pope!”
The Pope, happily obliged to the request, but joked
“Oh, [but] you bite!” according to Reuters. He then said, “Stay calm! I will give you a kiss, but you stay calm. Don’t bite!”
The nun hilariously agreed saying, “Si!” Reuters reported. The Pope then kissed the nun on her cheek, the surrounding crowd erupts with applause and cheers.
