President Buhari’s SSA on Foreign Affairs, Abike Dabiri -Erewa, had a quick reply for a follower who condemned President Buhari’s recent announcement of seeking reelection in the 2019 Presidential election, and it all went down on Twitter.
The reply came after Dabiri who replied a follower’s tweet on giving Nigerians in diaspora a chance, to vote in elections.
The Nass has to amend the constitution to make that possible. Talk to your senators and hon members. Only they have the power to make diaspora voting happen
Reacting to this, a follower wrote;
A country with over 182m population with more than half of its people under 30 years of age..& the president who is 75 years old, who is not in good health is seeking re-election..Sometimes it hurts to belong here, it’s simply a sick, toxic nation..very sad! long live Nig youths
Firing back, Abike Dabiri tweeted;
So what is stopping you from contesting and or mobilizing for your choice? Change begins with you. Dare to venture. Dare to succeed
Recall that after President Buhari confirmed he will stand for re-election in next year’s election, some Nigerians expressed their delight over Buhari’s declaration, while others did not welcome the development.
