President Muhammadu Buhari has met with Donald Trump at the White House.
In his welcome speech, Trump expressed appreciation for Buhari’s visit.
Donald Trump asked President Buhari about what he had done with the issue of the kidnapped Nigerian girls – the Dapchi girls, Chibok girls, to which Buhari answered that Nigeria has not given up about their rescue, detailing the efforts of his administration to have them brought back.
Buhari also thanked his host for agreeing to have America sell the Tucano Jets to Nigeria, for which $496m has so far been paid.
Buhari’s meeting with Donald Trump on Monday marks the second time Buhari sits down with a US president in the three years he has been in power – the first being with Barack Obama in 2015.
