Florentin Pogba, Manchester United star Paul Pogba’s brother was reportedly attacked by angry Genclerbirligi team mates after abruptly walking off the pitch on Sunday, and leaving his side a man down.
Dogan news agency and Fanatik sports daily reported that security officers and club officials reportedly had to intervene to usher Pogba to safety, after he was confronted in the changing room by several team mates after the 1-0 league defeat at home to Antalyaspor.
Pogba’s brother, who signed an 18-month contract with the Ankara-based club in January after spending most of his career at Saint-Etienne, reportedly removed his shirt and stormed off the pitch in the 88th minute with his team down a goal after an argument with a team-mate.
Genclerbirligi had already made their three substitutions, forcing the home side to finish the match with just 10 men. The loss means Genclerbirligi are almost certain, to be relegated from the Turkish top flight with five points between them and safety and just two matches of the season remaining.

Florentin was born in Conakry on 19 August 1990, and he left Guinea’s capital city with his parents to set up in France when he was only eight months old.
Florentin, two-and-a-half years older than his Super Star brother, Paul Pogba, could probably have achieved a magnificent career in an alternative sport. Alongside his twin brother Mathias, he joined a table tennis club in the Parisian suburbs when they were eight, and went on to become the local champion. Mathias was even more prolific – he won the French title in his age group.
However, their love for football eventually proved stronger, and it should be said that Florentin has become an astute player in his own right. The versatile defender played for different clubs in the Paris area until he joined a Spanish Academy, Celta Vigo, in 2007. He then completed a successful trial at CS Sedan-Ardennes in 2009 (a second-tier club at the time who are now in the third tier) and his excellent performances with the Reserves enabled him to sign his first professional contract in March 2010.
