A petrol tanker has fallen and spilled its content earlier today in Ogun State.
The tanker laden with 33,000 litres of petrol fell along Iwoye-Ilogbo Road, in Iju-Atan-Ilogbo Local Council Development Area of Ogun State.
The tanker which bore the name of a popular oil company allegedly fell, due to the bad condition of the road.
Operatives of traffic agencies, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps and the Federal Road Safety Corps and policemen were seen at the scene of the accident to forestall any disaster.
They prevented residents from coming near the scene to scoop fuel. Vehicles and motorcycles also could not pass through the road.
Efforts are now being made to trans-load the content of the tanker into another one.
This is happening less than 24 hours after a tanker also spilled some of its content on an axis of the Ketu Kosofe road coming from Ikorodu, which saw the road temporarily shut.
According to the Lagos State Fire Service, the tanker fell at NNPC filling station Kosofe area of Ketu on Friday, September 14, 2018.
The service went further to tweet;
“Tanker fell at NNPC filling station Kosfose Ketu. Traffic inbound from Ikorodu is shut down as emergency units are on ground and in charge.”
The development, it was reported, caused a gridlock as Lagosians coming from Ikorodu were stuck on the road.
