The youth of Umuokereke Ngwa community in Obingwa LGA of Abia state, are currently protesting the alleged murder of a commercial tricycle rider by a soldier.
According to reports, the deceased – who just welcomed a child with his wife – was gunned down because he refused to give the military officer a bribe of N100.
The angry youths and residents allegedly set a Nigerian Army truck on fire after the soldier who is yet to be identified allegedly traced the tricycle rider a.k.a Keke Napep home and shot him dead over N100 bribe.
It was said to have happened at a check point. Traders selling around the area are said to have closed their shops and escaped after the angry mob stormed the check point.
