Security agencies in Ondo state have confirmed that the cause of the explosions that rocked the state earlier today was an accident, and some of the bombs may still be active.
According to the Police, the vehicle allegedly carrying the explosives to a neighboring state was involved in the accident around 1am, leading to a massive explosion that divided the Akure-Ondo Expressway into two.
They have also confirmed that the vehicle carrying the devices is buried underneath the crater created by the explosion.
Residents of the community have however been advised by the Police to steer clear of the area as their might still be further explosions.
