Ogun state Governor receives COVID-19 vaccine

Governor Dapo Abiodun has received his COVID19 vaccine hours after the state government received 50, 000 doses of the COVAX vaccines.

The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine was taken publicly as further demonstration of the safety.

The governor mentioned that the state government would commence the vaccinations in line with the scheduled guidelines laid down by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA).

He added that the state government had identified some state hospitals, general hospitals, primary health care centers across the state that would be used for the vaccination. He said;

“Taking our doses is, first, service to self then to people, because we can only silence the virus if we think and act together. We should be aware that even our two doses don’t preclude the use of facemasks and compliance with other safety guidelines.”

Ogun State is the first to receive the first batch of vaccines among the comity of states in the country.
