According to step-father of the rape victim, Monsuru Badmus, the incident occurred in Ogiri Ojule village in Ogun State, shortly after the girl came home came for holiday in the village. The complaint of the aggrieved step-father, led to the arrest of the suspect.
The rape act was uncovered after the mother questioned the girl, after she noticed blood stains on her clothes. It was further gathered that the miscreant further threatened to kill the victim, if she told anyone of her rape ordeal.
The Ogun State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi who confirmed the incident , said that Bulldozer who was subsequently arrested, later confessed to the crime.
“The victim explained the whole thing to her mother and the threat of the suspect on her life. The mother who knows the suspect to be a thug in the village alerted her husband and the man quickly reported to the police,” Mr Oyeyemi said.
“Upon the report, the DPO of Odeda Police Division, CSP Muhammad Baba Suleiman, led detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested. On interrogation, he confessed to the crime. The victim was however taken to the Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, for medical examination.
“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the case to be transferred to the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for proper investigation and prosecution of the suspect,” Oyeyemi added.
This is coming after Head of Arridah Foundation, Hajiya Rabi Salisu told newsmen few months ago, that a 13-year-old girl allegedly raped by eight men including an Imam, was five months pregnant with twins in Kubau Local Government, Kaduna State.
