A day after there was a fuel tanker explosion in Ochanja market in Onitsha, Anambra state, some areas are still burning according to reports.
Yesterday, October 16 was a black day in Onitsha Anambra state as lives and properties were lost after a fuel tanker exploded close to Ochanja Market, burning everything on it’s way.
Sadly, there were no fire fighters to immediately respond to the call, eyewitness claimed it took over 3 hours before one emergency fire fighters came to the rescue from Delta state.
A new video has now surfaced, showing some areas of the market still burning this morning. The video also showed shop owners and traders, trying to savage what is left of their shops in the market while others put out the fire still beurning.

According to reports, no fewer than 40 building ranging from 2-storey to 4-storey buildings were engulfed in the fire and over 500 lock-up shops consumed in the fire.
A woman and her child were also said to have been burnt to death after she tried to jump out of her shop, but mistakenly stepped on slippery object and fell into the gutter raging with fire.
