Obaseki, Oba of Lagos attacked at Oshiomhole’s residence

Suspected thugs have attacked convoy of Governor Godwin Obaseki, Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu and Chairman, Caverton Offshore Support Group, Mr. Aderemi Makanjuola.

They were driving into the Iyamho residence of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole shortly after attending the first convocation ceremony of the Edo University, Iyamho, The Nation reports.

Makanjuola was installed Chancellor of the institution at the ceremony.

Police sources said they were invited for lunch by Oshiomhole after the ceremony at the university, but were attacked by suspected thugs.

According to a source,

“The governor, the Oba of Lagos and other guests had gone to Oshiomhole’s house for lunch when they were attacked by thugs led by one Romeo, said to be one of Oshiomhole’s cousins.”

It took the intervention of the governor’s security aides to prevent a blood bath as several vehicles were smashed by the thugs.

Another eyewitness however said the crisis was triggered by the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu who had allegedly led over two hundred Okada riders to the venue of convocation in the morning.

“Shaibu is the cause of all these. How can you lead okada riders to a convocation ceremony where high profile Nigerians would be sitting” the witness said
