A popular tout in Anambra State identified as Mr Ikechukwu Udensi a.k.a Ikanda has been declared wanted by the State’s Police Command in connection to the murder of a businessman, Mr late Ndubuisi Nwokolo.
According to the Police, Mr. Nwokolo was killed as he tried stopping Ikanda and his gang members from extorting money from commercial motorcyclist conveying him (Nwokolo) to his shop.
In a press statement signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed, the police called on people with information on the whereabouts of the suspected criminal to report to the police. The statement also added that the Anambra State government promised to reward anyone who gives useful information that leads to the arrest of the kingpin.
The statement reads in parts;
“Suspect is a native of Azia in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, dark in complexion, aged 27yrs old and about 1.73 meters tall.
“Anyone who provides useful information that would lead to his arrest will be Rewarded with One Million Naira (1,000,000) promised by the Anambra State Government. If seen, report to the nearest Police.”
This is coming barely few weeks after the Imo State Commissioner of police, Dasuki Galadanchi, declared one Obinna Ozoemena wanted for allegedly killing his cousin, Innocent Ekaeje.
It was learnt that the 31-year-old victim had just arrived from his base in Lagos for a burial ceremony in his family before his untimely death. The Police Public Relations Officer in Imo State, Andrew Enwerem, speaking on the incident said that the CP had instructed the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to take over the matter.
