A notorious cultist identified as Frank Adiku from Ewoi community in Ogbia Local Government Area, has been nabbed by operatives of Bayelsa State Volunteers – a local vigilante group.

The cultist who is a member of a cult group commonly known as “Iceland”, was reportedly on a physical combat with his colleagues who ran after operatives of Bayelsa State Volunteers showed up. It was gathered that Indian hemp, hard drugs and other items were recovered from him.

We also reported yesterday that three wounded cultists who were on their way to meet a herbalist after a bloody shootout with rival group in Bayelsa State, were nabbed by the Chairman of Bayelsa State Volunteers.

The cultists who killed a member of a rival group during a shootout at Saint Peters Church axis, Yenagoa, in the early hours of Friday 31st of August 2018, reportedly fled the scene of the incident with bullet wounds to Ikolo village.

They were reportedly chased to their hideout in Ikolo village by the Chairman in company of some of Special Squad and Police men attached to the State Volunteers, and were caught inside a room while others ran into the bush.

The corpse of a young man whose body was hurriedly buried in a shallow grave across the river opposite the Federal Medical Centre was exhumed for proper autopsy, following the arrest of the three young men who crossed the river Nun to meet their herbalist so as to extract the  bullets lodged in their bodies.

While the body of Kali Dede has since been deposited in the FMC mutuary as ordered by the State Police Anti-Cultism Department, a unit under SARS, Hon. Asanakpo advised citizens of the state to cooperate with the agency by providing the needed information about crime and criminality any where in the state.
