Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke has expressed her disagreement with the popular belief that celebrity marriages fail over their involvement in the movie industry.
While speaking in an interview, the actress mentioned that marriages generally fail in the society and it will be insensitive to conclude that a certain industry is responsible for the failure of that of it’s stakeholders.
There is nobody that is insulated from what’s happening in the society at large. Generally, there are many marriages that don’t last. I have seen someone that was married for just two years and she left the marriage. It is not because one is an actress or an actor that one’s marriage would scatter; it is because that’s what is ‘reigning’ for now. It takes true love for anybody to remain in a marriage when the two partners no longer have feelings for each other.”
The actress then went further to address the issue of prostitution in Nollywood. She revealed that any actress involved in the act, has chosen the path even before entering into the industry and she would do same if she were in another field.
She however blamed the act on the general attitude of young people seeking free money with little or no work.
