No fewer than nine persons died in the Lagos tanker explosion that occurred on Otedola Bridge outward Lagos on Thursday evening, PunchNG reports.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson, Bisi Kazeem, 54 vehicles were burnt in the incident while four persons were injured.
He added that rescue operations are still ongoing.
The tanker was heading out of Lagos towards the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when the crash occurred, causing panic and fear.
Nigerians have however trooped to twitter to narrate their experiences at the scene of the tanker explosion with a woman claiming she just travelled with her friend and her daughter, along that axis five minutes before the explosion.
Thank God for saving my friend, her daughter and I. We passed there not up to 5 mins before the incident.
And some other people are wondering why disasters are springing at different parts of the country, especially in this month of June just as it is rounding off
God help us. This month of June a lot has been happening and we cant just understand where the country is leading us to. There is so much blood in the land and it is only God that can redeem us at this troubled time that Nigeria is in at the moment
