“NIN enrollment centres in Calabar charge N2,000 per registration” – Governor Ayade’s aide

According to Andrea Ekeng Inyang, the Special Assistant to the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, on Strategic Communication, has claimed that NIN enrollment centres in Calabar charge N2,000 per registration.

He made the allegation in a recent social media post.

Taking to his Facebook page, Andrea Ekeng Inyang accused enrollment centres in Calabar of extorting National Identification Number applicants.

“NIN registration centers in Calabar are charging N2,000 each per registration. 100 registration a day is N200,000 Thieves!” he stated on Tuesday, January 5.

This is coming barely 24 hours after the Federal Government suspended workers fingered in extortion at enrolment centres of the National Identity Management Commission.

Recall that the NCC had ordered telecommunications companies to halt the sale and activation of Subscriber Identification Module (SIM).

NCC warned that non-compliance by network operators could lead to the withdrawal of operating licenses.
