Nike in partnership with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have just unveiled the new Super Eagles kits in New York, and it looks awesome.
The new kit was unveiled ahead of the Super Eagles 2021 Africa Cup of Nations match-day three home qualifying encounter against Sierra Leone.
As we can all recall, Nike changed the kit of the Super Eagles in the year 2018, and it was a game changer.
Rated the best design at the World Cup, it achieved 3 million pre-orders, sold out, re-stocked, and sold out time and time again.
The sport giants have obviously picked up from where they left off as they have dropped a new bespoke design, that fuses the traditional aesthetic of an agbada robe with modern football design.
According to Soccerbible, the new Super Eagles kit pattern was hand drawn and is highly symbolic of Nigerian heritage with nods to nobility and family. Nigeria’s football federation crest is placed centrally on the chest, the player names and numbers integrate the eagle feather into the application. “Naija” appears inside the neck of jersey and on the back of the socks in a new typeface.
The broader Naija collection will obviously feature an extensive array of Super Eagles apparel including a poncho, vest, dress and more.
