The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP has said that Nigerians celebrating Christmas in 2018 with so much pains and in hunger.

Ugochinyere attributed the situation to what he said the unbearable economic pains inflicted by the present administration.

He urged Nigerians to be steadfast in mobilisation and be prayerful, saying the February 16, 2019 date for the presidential election is their date with destiny.

The statement read:

“The cost of transportation has now gone out of control of the ordinary people. In most instances, it has gone between the 300% – 500% mark.

“Staple food items are now like luxury to Nigerian families. Rice, yam,  maize, vegetable oil, tomatoes, and other basic food ingredients are so expensive that many families are in dire straits at the moment as how to survive this season.

“Worse is that the Federal Government did not make any attempts to pay contractors who they are owing, thereby making it impossible for them to pay their staff their December salaries.

“The Buhari regime has also found it extremely difficult to source for funds to pay civil servants many of whom do not have any idea of how to survive this season.

“The regime has made many Nigerians lose faith in the only country they call their own. Millions of Nigerians cannot buy basic food to eat or are stranded and cannot travel to their villages to be with loved ones because of the high cost of transportation.

“But we bring them good news;  punish this administration with your PVC and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will get Nigeria working again.

“The incompetence of President Buhari and his ineffectual policies are responsible for the economic woes of our nation. President Buhari has never in history been known to have managed anything successfully to prosperity
.
“The regime has all through and so far been so loud in the noise of promises but empty on delivery. The Buhari government has no known  policy on the improvement and development of education and health; two critical sectors that benefit the people and jumpstart the growth of the  economy.”

Ugochinyere urged Nigerians to let their Christmas pain make their resolve to vote Buhari out of office stronger.

“The hopelessness of a new year imposed on them by this regime shall not deter the collective resolve of Nigerians to reclaim our country from the hands a marauding cabal bent on weaponizing poverty,” he added.

  25. The CUPP spokesman has smoken well but in this Christmas period one should just cut his or her cloth according to one’s size.

  26. It somehow true. The fact is that while the citizens are suffering some of our politicians are enjoying the embezzled funds from the country’s purse

  31. February 16, 2019 is a date we’re all waiting for..we’ve made the mistake before.. Not again.

  32. Yes we know that this year hasn’t been what most of us expected it to be. We experienced a lot of setbacks ranging from recession to other unpleasant experiences but we hope for the best even as we celebrate Christmas. It’s true that a lot of people out there will be celebrating Christmas with so much pains but as long as there is life there is hope.

  33. There is no money in Circulation and Economy is very bad that to eat the 3 square meal is difficult.

  34. Political propaganda….. When you say hardship yes I agree people are suffering….what make you think atiku is the better person for Nigeria…. Continue deceiving yourself

  35. There’s no fuel scarcity and they inflate the transport fare simply because it’s Christmas time… It’s just in the constitution

  36. It’s very true Nigerians are celebrating Christmas in pains that’s the more reason we need to be very careful in 2019 and vote the right people into power. Nigerians please do not sell your votes…. I repeat don’t sell your votes it’s your right.

  37. We are really in pains oooo
This is the worst government I have experienced in my life
O lord let your will be done

  38. Thank you for this word, is true that hunger they fight with people, Lord will need ur Mercy in this country.

  39. What is d point of saying anything wen nothing can be done.. Anyway it is d truth.. Dis xmas is nt going to be funny

  40. The Hunger and suffering in Nigeria now is too much.. So many crimes here and there.. Cost of things are so high in the market.. The Christmas celebration doesn’t seem same, because most people can’t afford to have good meal for the season.. I pray things get better. This administration has achieved nothing..

  41. That is completely wrong. Yes The Lord is good to His people. For giving us life despite all our weaknesses is a supportive reason to be grateful not in sorrow. I am Happy for the gift of life jarre! Political blackmailing everywhere lolz

  42. We are suffering because of all these politicians. They should turn a new leave and make Nigeria great

  43. Yes the hunger and hike in prices of foods is something else but in all we thank God. I just pray that Nigerians will come out and correct this regrettable mistakes

  44. then whats the way foward instead of saying and pumping out blame and bringing out stats to show them, ought they should be solutions also!

  45. Such is life some people celebrate while some people cry, but the hardship in the country now is just so unbearable, I pray God help this country from wicked leaders.

  46. Some are preparing big for the festive period while some are in pains too,
you and I shall end this year in pain

  47. That’s true. This time around Nigerians should be wise on whom they vote in the up coming election, we need leaders that will liberate us from poverty not enslave us in poverty.

  48. This is coming from the mind of an individual everyone is tired of hoping for a better country when there is nothing to show for it

  49. Everybody cannot be comfortable at the same time. Some are preparing big for the festive period while some are in pains too

  50. For this has been the situation all year round besides you are speaking because of politics it’s true that Nigerians are hungry but didn’t start now.

  51. We are truly celebrating this Christmas in pains. Things are very expensive in the market and the money available is very small. To even feed well this Christmas is a problem. Many homes can’t even boost of one cup of rice.

  52. It is true oo, salaries are not paid on time and there is increase in food items. Even drivers increased transportation fees despite the fact that there is no increase in fuel price.

  53. That’s very correct oo
Things have gone really high in this festive period ooo..
    This country really needs help
    Only God will save us

  54. Saying Nigerians are celebrating in pains is gross. We are not in pain we are not in pain rather we are just not comfortable. Feeding is a tug of war.

  55. You may be right but not 100% right because is not everybody that is celebrating in pains and hunger. Don’t make it a political thing.

  56. I don’t agree with the statement. Nigeria is a great nation though we might have our ups and downs but we keep carrying through

  57. It is actually true that due to the economic situation of the country,we are celebrating at low key, doesn’t even look like it’s Christmas season.

  58. This year Christmas is not funny at all but in all we give God glory for the gift of life and goo health it is really not easy at all.

  59. That’s right. Alot of family cannot afford to buy food for demselves not to talk about sharing to odas

  60. That’s statement is unacceptable, its inciting especially at this crucial time of our general elections. CUPP should be warned

  61. Christians are d cause of this when Muslim celebrates prices of things don’t increase but wen Christians celebrate the very Christians inflate d prices of things

  62. True talk. The Lord shall provide for as many people who don’t have what to eat in this festive period. No matter how high the cost of transportation, people will surely travel for the Christmas.

  63. That is true, but we voted him for a change. This is the change we are now experiencing. So, don’t blame anyone. Blame yourself!

  64. This December isn’t the December we use to know before…. A lot has changed just within how many months?

  65. This is nothing but the truth most families are just managing and enduring may God save us its not easy at all the situation of this country needs divine intervention

  66. Why are we punishing ourselves, the last time I checked, there was no fuel scarcity. People are the one who is causing this havoc..why will yoy impose exorbitant price on transport. .extortion. .God save us

  67. True
But politicians will always remain players.
When these persons get into powers by virtue if their different parties they go and embezzle and create more problems

  68. The federal government needs to invest in human capital development because stomach infrastructure is too much

  69. Most of the problems are caused by the citizens because the high cost of transportation and food items is not the government but greedy people thereby making life miserable to the poor masses.

  70. I don’t totally agree with the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP because I see the statement more of political because it is directed at individual and party. Is a political talk.

  71. Yea seriously we are celebrating this 2018 Xmas in great pain…people are dying like fowl everyday, hunger, unemployment etc..BT I believe God come 2019 things will change for good
