A Nigerian man has been shot dead by robbers in South Africa, the attackers also made way with his car after killing him.

The Nigerian national identified simply as Chidi was killed by suspected hijackers in South Africa. His friend, Taiwo Saheed who is based in Pretoria, revealed this unfortunate incidence on social media.

Taiwo Saheed stated that the incident happened last Sunday night in Mpumalanga Nelspruit. He wrote;

“Sad news again gone to soon brother he was shot last night by unknown guys at hazy view mpumalanga nelspruit they even collect his car only God know what story behind this gentle man killing rest in peace my dear brother #Chidi.”

Last month, a 30-year-old Nigerian man identified as ThankGod Okoro, was reportedly killed in South Africa after he was shot in the head by a Police officer. ThankGod Okoro from Ogbaku in the Agwu Local Government Area of Enugu State, was killed in circumstances described as part of the continuous pre-meditated murder of Nigerians.

According to reports, no fewer than 117 Nigerians have been killed in South Africa since February 2016. Unofficial estimates put the number of Nigerians residing in South Africa at about 800,000 majority of whom are young people.
