Mike Newman, Zelda and Chanté Newman died in the Napier accident that occurred this morning. Eight people died in the head-on collision.
Four men and four women were killed in what Western Cape traffic chief Kenny Africa called a gruesome crash on the R316.
Mike, Zelda and Chante Newman, as well as Mike’s mother, Zelda’s mother and father tragically passed away in the head on collision Napier accident today. Their whole family, besides their eldest daughter Marzell Newman, died in car crash.
The cause of the accident has not yet been established

A tribute from a loved one of the Newman family on Facebook reads:
This is one of THE saddest days, this was the accident reported in the Media where 8 people lost their lives on the Napier rd.
We, Will and I, have never experienced such pain in our years together, our hearts are shattered, we cannot comprehend this total, utter tragedy!

RIP. This is one of the saddest days ever. What a beautiful, kind, caring, loving family they were. Known them for 23 years and they were soooo respected in the plumstead community.
