Naira Marley Volunteers to sing UAR national anthem

Naira Marley has volunteered to sing the national anthem for UAR, as he took to social media to react to the proposed change in the name of Nigeria.

This comes as the reports have gone viral that the name Nigeria could be changed to United Africa Republic UAR.

The proposal was reportedly submitted by Adeleye Jokotoye, a tax consultant on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

While presenting the proposal, he said Nigeria’s current name was an imposition of its past colonial masters and should be changed.

He said a change of name for the country would physically and psychologically reflect a new beginning.

“At this crossroads in our history, it is mandatory that we change our name to reflect a new beginning which will be ushered in with a new constitution,” he said.

Naira Marley who has joined a list of growing Nigerians to react to the proposed change of name has said he would be the new one to sing the National anthem for the new name.

He wrote, “Omo Na me go sing the new national Anthem for UAR.”
