According to Mayorkun, he can’t write one line about the advantages of his Nigerian passport as regards travelling outside Africa, and it is quite pathetic. His tweet reads;
Can’t write one line of the advantages of my ‘Green passport’ as regards traveling outside Africa. Pathetic!
I’m so sad to announce I wouldn’t be able to make my gig in Cleveland, Ohio tomorrow! A new date ll be announced in due time.. Hopefully, The tour continues in DC on Saturday!
Never been denied visa before my brother na delay. Lol
This is coming few months after Reekado Banks disclosed that he was depressed after he was denied Visa. With the series of tweets which caught the attention of his followers who tried to cheer him up, a denial of visa and work permit by the embassy of the United Kingdom was pointed out as the main reason for frustration.
The ‘standard’ crooner has planned a ‘Thank You’ concert planned in the UK for his fans, but what made the situation worse was the fact that the concert was initially planned to hold a week before it was postponed due to this same issue.
Checks carried out, also revealed that Mayorkun and Reekado Banks are not the only Nigerian singers who have been denied Visa or suffered a delay before now. A number of industry practitioners including Ruggedman, Olu Maintain, Wizkid to mention a few, have at one time or the other suffered rejection at the embassy before they were later granted the travel documents sooner or later.
Recall that Wizkid who was billed to perform at this year’s Coachella, couldn’t make it because he had some Visa issues.
