“My life is a testimony of God love” – Singer Waje says as she clock 40

Ace Nigerian female singer, Aituaje Iruobe, popularly known as Waje, is celebrating her 40th birthday today, 1st of September, 2020.

Taking to her Instagram page to celebrate her special day, Waje stated that her life is a testimony of God’s love because she is not perfect and doesn’t deserve so much love.

Sharing a special snap of herself, the singer wrote;

“My life is a testimony of God love. A love with no reservation, without my perfection.. Thank you for loving me for no reason.”

In another post, Waje wrote “Thank you for all for riding with me and being a part of my story….Happy birthday to me”

Waje, last month recounted how she got pregnant when she was still in SS3 and how she was treated by her church, as she was banned from singing with the choir due to her pregnancy.

Waje shared her experience and story with gospel rapper, Bouqui in a recent Instagram live chat, where she discussed her Life, fears and her early childbirth.

According to her, Waje got into a relationship in SS3 and she described the relationship as moving from ‘puppy love to sexual relationship’. she stated that at the time of the relationship, she was in love and the only way she could express her love was through having sex with the father of her child. At that time, Waje said she saw him as a handsome boy, and didn’t understand the responsibility that came with making decisions.

Going down memory lane, Waje said she was called by her Pastor and was emotionally drained because of the anxiety she felt when her Pastor found out she was pregnant. She was asked to see her Pastor every Wednesday and Friday. She stated that her mum did not know she was pregnant until she was 5 months due.
Waje said she told her Mum one morning, during devotion that she was pregnant and was nursing the thought of aborting the baby. Waje said she knew her mum was very disappointed at the time.

The talented musician is a graduate of social work from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and an advocate for people’s right to equality of opportunity.
