41 people have died after plane which made an emergency landing at an airport in Moscow, Russia erupted into flames Yesterday.
The Aeroflot aircraft burst into flames at Sheremetyevo airport as it landed on the runway last night (read here ).
A video showing the incident showed passengers running out of the burning plane through emergency slides.
Initial reports stated that only one person died with at least 5 we’re injured. The death toll later increased to 13 including two children. Latest investigations confirmed hours later that 41 had died in the blaze.
Speaking in a statement, the Russian Investigative Committee said: “There were 78 people on board, including [five] crew members. According to updated information, 37 out of them survived.”
Fire broke out in the omane while it was in the air and in it’s way to the northern city of Murmansk .It had to return to Sheremetyevo in Moscow.

Russia’s Interfax news agency reported that a “loss of communication” caused by a “lightning strike”forced the pilot to return to Sheremetyevo. No official cause has yet been provided for the disaster. The state if survivors is yet to be revealed too.
