Jack Sweeney was a first-year student at the Juanita College.

His death was announced by Juanita College who wrote in a statement on Facebook:

The Juniata College community is grieving the loss of Michael “Jack” Sweeney, a first-year student who passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, September 30.

We extend our sincere condolences to all of Jack’s family, friends, and peers.

Staff will be available on the second floor of Ellis Hall, near Eagles Landing, to offer support and space for conversation and reflection.

We are asking all of those within our campus community to take care of themselves and one another during this difficult time.

As you feel the need to respond to this news and/or be in community for support, Campus Ministry, in partnership with the Office of Student Life, invites you to a gathering this evening at 8pm in BAC, Alumni Hall.
