Just received the sad news that our brother, former V103 Chicago colleague and veteran syndicated Night Moods/Quiet Storm Air Personality Mel Devonne has passed away at age 61.😢

Mel was a renaissance man, author, documentary filmmaker, college basketball coach, world traveler and the consummate professional.

Mel and I were born in the same year on the same day, something we always acknowledged when we worked together. Condolences to his family and many friends. Rest In Peace

Please say a prayer for his family. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

  11. i only just now read of his passing. i was going through old tapes to digitize, and came across some Mel i’d taped off wvaz back in 1994 or so. of all the “quiet storm” hosts i’ve heard all over the country, Mel was, by far, the best. the original and voice par excellence.
