Meghan Markle’s Dad, Thomas Markle, is considering a trip to England to see his daughter whether or not he is invited by Kensington Palace, to fix his relationship with his daughter as he fears he has been frozen out of her new life.
According to The Sun, the 73-year-old, who lives in Mexico, said he wanted to see the Duchess and said he did not care if she was ‘p***ed off’ at him. Meghan Markle’s dad disclosed that he has faced a difficult relationship with the royal family since his daughter became engaged to Prince Harry, and did not attend the royal wedding in May.
The Duchess of Sussex’s father said he would not ‘make a fool’ of himself on a visit to see his daughter but would stay in a hotel room. He also stated that he would like to meet the Queen, saying that if Donald Trump could do so then he could too.
Revealing he had not spoken to Meghan since shortly after the wedding, he said:
‘If I chose in a month, or couple of months, to go to England — I want to see my daughter. I’m thinking about it.
‘It’s sad that it’s got to this point. I’m sorry it’s come to this.
‘Yes, some of it is my fault. But I’ve already made it clear that I’m paying for this for the rest of my life.’
An earlier report disclosed that Meghan Markle’s dad doesn’t think his daughter is having the easiest time, adjusting to her new role as a member of the royal family.
“My thing about my daughter right now is that I think she is terrified. I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile,” Thomas Markle, 73, said during a new interview with The Sun on Sunday.
“I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now. This one isn’t even a stage smile — this is a pained smile,” he continued, adding that while it’s possible she “might be just having a couple bad days,” he worries “she’s under too much pressure.”
“There’s a high price to pay to be married to that family,” he remarked.
However, in the same interview, Thomas admitted that he has not spoken to his daughter since the day after she married Prince Harry on May 19, which was almost two months ago.
“I spoke to Meghan and Harry briefly after the wedding,” he told the publication, adding that “the phone number I had been calling Meghan on is no longer picking up. And I don’t have an address for her.”
