Augusta and Gardiner police just announced that human remains discovered April 7 in a densely wooded area in Augusta have been identified as Megan Gregory, who disappeared in June 2017.
Megan Gregory missing:
27-year-old Megan Gregory disappeared in June 2017. She was last seen in Augusta, Maine in early June of 2017.
She had exited her friends car in the Sand Hill area of Augusta on June 5th but there were sightings of Megan on both the 5th and 6th.
After that, Megan vanished. And for the next two years, rumors circulated about what could have happened to Megan but no trace of her has been found.
April 7, 2019 came and human remains were discovered in a densely wooded area in Augusta, near the Route 3/Cushnoc bridge, police said.
In a joint news release issued Thursday morning by Augusta and Gardiner police, officials say that the Medical Examiner’s Office was able to identify Gregory using dental records.
As to Megan Gregory cause of death, police said evidence collected where her body was found indicate that her death is not suspicious, but an official cause of death has not been determined.
The Maine Medical Examiner’s Office identified the remains as Megan Gregory, 29, using dental records.

Her death has not been resolved, the State of Maine has still not given a cause of death. Most people who know her suspect she was murdered by Rochester New York gang members in June of 2017. The police, because of her lifestyle and involvement with organized crime, and because they never actually searched for her want this case to just go away.
