Mc Sapao morreu: Here is how Mc Sapao died of severe pneumonia at age 40 on April 19th, 2019.
Mc Sapao, real name Jefferson Fernandes Luiz, was hospitalized nine days ago for pneumonia and died on Friday afternoon April 19 at the Rio de Janeiro State Hospital.
According to Sapão press office, the singer contracted a flu because of the variations of temperature of the venues of his shows and, later, it worsened to pneumonia. He was on tour around Brazil releasing the song “Let her dance”.
Globo reports that he began treatment at the Rocha Faria Hospital in the West Zone, and on Thursday (18) he was transferred.
Rocha Faria hospital said Mc Sapao’s obesity and diabetes made the treatment more complicated and, therefore, he was undergoing special care.
One of the restrictions was the visit: the singer’s four children could not enter the Intensive Care Unit to see him.
In a recent interview with the program ‘Tá brincando’ , Sapão said that one of the biggest challenges of his life was to lose weight – the singer lost 50 kilos between 2013 and 2014.
The singer, who started his career in 1998, has among his biggest successes these songs – “Eu tô tranquilão”, “Rei do baile”, “I can sing” and “I will challenge you.”
Mc Sapao cause of death is septic shock, pneumonia and heart failure.
Information about his funeral and burial will be announced in the next few hours.
A statement from Sapao’s team read:
“The team and family of MC Sapão are dismayed by this news. It is with great regret that we inform the death of singer MC Sapão.”
As soon as they learned of the death of the funkeiro, friends and relatives went to the hospital to comfort Mc Sapao widow Alessandra Fernandes, who spent the whole time with her husband in his last days.
