My heart breaks when I get these phone calls. Former #Vols DT Matt McGlothlin passed away. Teammate who always lit up the room with his personality.

Hate to hear of the passing of former @BlueTornadoLive and #Vols football standout Matt McGlothlin.

While at Richlands, Matt became the first four year starter in school history. At Tennessee, he played in 36 games for the Vols. He signed as a UDFA with the @Chiefs in 2007. #RIP

From Brittany Woods:

Last night I received news that one of my good friends from College had passed. I met Matt McGlothlin during my freshman year and we hit it off immediate!!

We had a special bond and just happened to both be from South West Va. He was one of the kindest souls. Bam Bam was always smiling and making sure those around him were having a good time.

He was a gentle giant and I’m thankful for all the great times and memories I have! Prayers for all of his family and friends through this tragedy. Heaven Truly Gained a Fantastic Angel.

Former Vols teammate Jayson Swain wrote on Twitter that McGlothlin “always lit up the room with his personality.”

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
