Mandan Murders: Combined memorial service for dead North Dakota staff
Mandan Murders update: A combined memorial service will be held for the North Dakota company employees found dead at the RJR Maintenance and Management warehouse earlier this week.
According to Eastgate Funeral home, the service for the ND staff – Robert Fakler, William and Lois Cobb, and Adam Fuehrer will be held Tuesday April 9 at 11 a.m. at Bismarck Community Church, 1617 Michigan Ave. Bismarck.
Last Monday, local law enforcement found the bodies of four people, three men and one woman, at the offices of RJR Maintenance and Management company in Mandan.
Mandan, North Dakota is a small city just across the Missouri River from the state’s capital.
The four people, later identified as the firm’s owner and three of its employees, were dead.
In a Tuesday news briefing, Mandan Police Chief Jason Ziegler named the victims — Robert Fakler, who owned RJR; and Adam Fuehrer, William Cobb and Lois Cobb.
Police authorities said they were victims of a quadruple homicide, they have classified the case as a “multiple homicide,” but haven’t said how the four RJR employees died or identified a suspect.
Mandan Police Chief Jason Ziegler declined to say whether they were searching for a lone killer or multiple perpetrators.
There were security cameras in the building, but he did not say whether they had captured the killing. He however, apparently ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide, when he told the Bismarck Tribune that “these four people didn’t do it themselves.”
Ziegler also wouldn’t discuss a possible motive. He said investigators had not recovered a weapon at the scene.
Police haven’t taken anyone into custody.
NORTH DAKOTA MANDAN MURDERS:
The number of people killed at the RJR Maintenance and Management warehouse Mandan murders alone exceeded the total number of homicides in Mandan from 2013 to 2017.
In those five years, from 2013 to 2017, city police reported just three murders.
According to the FBI, North Dakota has one of the lowest homicide rates in the United States. In 2017, there were 1.3 murders per 100,000 residents.
