A Nigerian man slumped after he received many slaps to the head from a policeman who he denied opportunity to check his phone.
There was a mild confusion, this morning, at Ojodu Abiodun, Lagos, after a young man lost consciousness due to the numerous slaps he received at the back of his head, from a policeman who wanted to check his phone.
According to reports, the victim had refused to give the policeman his password. This angered the officer and he descended on him. He also wanted to drag him to the Adugboluja Police Station, but the victim refused.
The beating only stopped after the young man slumped and passed out. He was promptly rushed to Ewa Hospital, by passers by. It was gathered that policemen are notorious for this habit in that axis.
There have been rampant cases of Police brutality in Nigeria, a clash between youths of Umunze community in Orumba South local government area of Anambra state and some SARS Officers (Special Anti-Robbery squad), left many dead and properties destroyed, just two months ago.
It was gathered that the sad incident occurred on the evening of Saturday March 3rd, when some SARS Officers showed up at a popular relaxation spot known as ‘Guzoro’ and started embarrassing some of the customers who were having drinks. They also pushed to make some arrest but were stopped by the youths of the community.
