A man cries out after he receives N500000 bill from the Shomolu local government in Lagos after he moving into a new building.
Tunde Ademuyiwa speaks up after he received a whooping N500000 (five hundred thousand naira) bill for printing, TV and radio in a new building he recently moved into, 3 weeks ago in Bajulaiye, Shomolu local government area of Lagos state.
He took to his social media page to share a picture of the bill with caption;
We moved to a new building less than 3weeks ago. See what the local government just sent us.I will fight this thing with EVERYTHING. Nonsense!
His post caught many the attention of other Nigerians who advised he got a lawyer immediately.
See some reactions to the post below.
Yemisi Ehikioya – Don’t even loose sleep over this, get a lawyer to reply them for explanations….let it drag from there
Janey – This is how they kill SMEs with double and triple taxation.
@MrAdeBond – That’s the real problem we’ve got,instead of the government enabling conducive environments and policies to promote indigenous business;no they won’t, rather they ll do everything opposite.
@adedvyo – The radio and TV fee is for what? Did you buy from the local gov’t?
Na them print your signboard for you? What’s the 450k for?
Hewhomustbenamed – Lol, they probably want you to come and negotiate. You should get the relevant bye law and have a look at it. Also confirm that this actually emanated from the council. Lots of fraudsters are on the prowl these days…
