A man has been allegedly assaulted and detained by officers of the Nigeria Police Force at Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State, over refusal to pay N100 bribe.

According to a report by one Osazee Edigin, who is the public relations officer of Edo Civil Society Organisations, the man was arrested by the officers, but was later released after the society intervened in the matter.
Osaze then took to social media to write on the incident:
REPORT FROM EDOCSO IGUEBEN STUDY CENTRE:
A young man was brutally assaulted and detain this morning by men of the Nigeria police force at the igueben division because he refused to give them #100 at the checkpoint when the issue were reported to me, I swung into action immediately for intervention and the young man was released without kobo.
