Funke Akindele Bello was reported arrested yesterday for hosting a house party to celebrate her husband JJC Skillz birthday in their home despite lockdown order in Lagos state.
According to reports, the Lagos State Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, confirmed that Funke Akindele has been arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba.
Funke and her husband, JJC Skillz had a birthday party at their Amen estate home in Lagos state last night and was attended by quite a number of people which contravenes the social distancing order of the Lagos state government. She was picked up by men of the Lagos state police command this evening while her husband, singer Naira Marley have been asked to come forward for questioning.
Shortly after the news of her arrest broke, Dettol Nigeria on its Twiter page, said as a responsible organization, it does not condone any breach of the guidelines on Covid-19 and are concerned about the turn of events.
See Dettols statement below;
“We have been made aware through social media that Funke Akindele recently, acting in her personal capacity, had a celebration which is against the caution to the public on social distancing during the covid-19 pandemic.
The NCDC partnered with Dettol on a public service message to educate our communities about preventive measures against COVID-19. Funke is not a brand ambassador of the NCDC.
As a responsible organization and brand Dettol does not condone any breach of the guidelines on Covid-19. As an organization we are concerned at the turn of events.
We will continue to support NCDC and the Nigerian govt to fight COVID-19”
