LASTMA officials in Lagos allegedly manhandled a tricycle “keke NAPEP” driver after he ran into a private property.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were captured in a video after they allegedly manhandled a Keke driver in a bid to arrest him.
In the video now going viral, one of the officials who had his belt unhooked was with the keke driver, pinned by he wall. After a woman pleaded with the officers, they decided to let him go. The one holding him asked him to stand up but the keke driver said he could not.
Seemingly weak, the keke driver couldn’t stand up even after he was asked to go get his Keke and leave. This led to the officer asking,
“You wan faint?”
The keke driver had to lean on the officer while they attempted getting an ambulance to tend to him.
Passersby began to challenge the officers who stood with the driver while other went in search of ambulance.
The video shows the name of two of the officials who are attached to Zone 12 Alausa, Ikeja (boldly written on the official vehicle they rode in).
