One of the flogged tenants identified as Ayo, had demanded for a refund of N1.3m rent following a robbery attack at the property, days after he moved in. Ayo who disclosed that reported the robbery case at the Alagbon police station but got tangible off investigation conducted, contacted the agent for a refund of the remainder of his rent, asking him to deduct the cost of the days he had spent in the house.
It was gathered that a refund argument between the tenant and the landlord dragged on for days after the property owner identified as Majuka refused to give back the money, insisting that Ayo can’t get a refund except someone else moves in, in which case he can partly refund Ayo.
However the tenants only woke this morning to be ordered out of their apartments by soldiers, mobilized by the landlord. They were beaten mercilessly by the soldiers who stopped, after one of the tenants fainted and had to be rushed to the hospital.
