Lance Gross, an American actor best known for his role as Calvin Payne on the TBS sitcom Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, has welcomed a baby boy with his wife, Rebecca.
The actor who shared news of the baby’s arrival on Instagram, wrote;
Celebrated my Born Day on the 8th and today I’m celebrating my son’s! God is Good!
Lance Gross and his wife Rebecca first welcomed their first child, Berkeley, in November 2014. Discussing fatherhood in a 2015 interview with ESSENCE , Lance said;
“Some of the most rewarding experiences being a father is being able to be present. Spending as many moments as I can with my little girl. It’s amazing how things shift from worrying about yourself and what’s next to this new life you’ve created.”
He also told HipHollywood in 2016 that he is ready for more children.
“I’m ready, she’s not,” said the 35-year-old actor. “She’s like I just got my body back, give me a minute, lets go a vacation a little bit.”
But Gross said his stylist wife didn’t the pressure to be thin and drop the baby weight quickly either. “She marches to the beat of her own drum. She just wants to have a little more time to enjoy Berkeley, and do the family stuff, and then we’ll throw another one into the mix.”
He also disclosed that he turned down a great job offer that he’d already accepted to be sure he didn’t miss a moment of fatherhood.
“When Becca was in her last stages of pregnancy, I got offered an acting gig that shot in another city for a few months,” he said. “I turned it down because, I had taken the job, there was a good chance I’d miss out on Berkeley’s birth. Before Berkeley was even thought of there was no way I’d turn a job like that down – no way, no how. But in my situation, I wanted to be present. I wanted to live every moment.”
