A Lagos resident recognized as Falilat Olatunji who stole her benefactor’s 4-month-old son at Iyana Lajola group of Mile Two in Ogun State’s capital, Abeokuta, has been arrested following a search that was performed after the mother of the baby Taiwo Bello raised an alarm.
According to reports, Ms Taiwo Bello, the mother of the child, Ibrahim, had left him in the room while sleeping and stepped out to wash her clothes behind the house at Iyana Kajola, Mile 2, Abeokuta, only to return to discover that he was missing.
The woman raised alarm which attracted a lot of people and the police was informed.
A full scale investigation into the case yielded positive result when Falilat was sighted with the baby at Ilewo Orile and was promptly arrested.
On interrogation, the suspect, who resides at 23, Jawando street, Ayobo, Lagos, confessed to stealing Ibrahim, but claimed that she only wanted to use him to deceive her husband whom she had earlier informed that she got pregnant for.
The baby has since been reunited long with his parents.
Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi advised members of the public to be aware of wolves in human skin. The case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), for further investigation and prosecution.
