Lady barred from attending friend’s wedding because she couldn’t afford asoebi
A Nigerian lady has explained why she would not be able to attend her friend’s upcoming wedding.
According to the woman known as Gbemmie, she is unable to afford the asoebi for the event due to other budgetary obligations, and the wedding has a ‘no asoebi, no entry’ policy.
However, when she spoke to her friend about it, she claimed that there is nothing she could do because the event planner was in charge and she stressed that it is compulsory for attendees to have asoebi.
Gbemmie said she was looking forward to attending the wedding but due to the condition, she sees no other option than to move past the situation.
She wrote; ”I was really looking forward to attending my friend’s wedding but we move. No aso ebi, no entry. I can’t afford the aso ebi cos I have other budgeted commitments. She said I can’t attend if I don’t buy. Says event planner is in charge.’‘
