Even when the nation is still mourning those who died in a tanker explosion yesterday in Lagos, there are still Nigerians who engage in activities that puts them in harms way and here is a report from Kogi State.

Instagram user @frank_chuka took to the platform to share a video of Kogi residents, scrambling to scoop fuel from a tanker which was involved in accident. The video he shared came with the caption;

With all the prayers we are praying in this country and with all the mishaps happening this June, some people will still not make use of their brain. After they would be calling God. Somewhere in kogi state, around Irapana community, a fuel/diesel tanker (we ain’t sure which) had accident, som people with “brain” are busy scooping the highly inflammable substance ON A MAJOR ROAD!!!!!!!! cars are passing, they are busy dragging with their gallons… Lord have mercy. Any little spark now, #pray_for_Nigeria will be flying all over , when we can avoid some circumstances. Biko let’s use our heads Ejoor.
God bless Nigeria. No matter what, we will definitely overcome.

 

This is coming after it was also reported that tanker laden with kerosene product exploded along Minna-Suleja road after engaging in a head-on collision with a trailer in Niger State, today. The accident occurred at Mallam Karo, a village located about two kilometres away from Suleja area of the state.

Five persons were said to be in the two vehicles at the time of the accident which occurred on Friday morning. The Unit Commander of the Federal Road Service Corps (FRSC) in Suleja, Mr Olayinka Akande, confirmed the accident to Channels Television.

Akande said the accident was caused by over speeding and overtaking. Although no life was lost, he noted that two out of the five persons involved in the accident sustained varying degrees of injuries and have been taken to the Suleja General Hospital for treatment.

The Unit Commander added that the fire has been put off and that men of the command have been deployed to ease the flow of traffic on the road. Meanwhile, officials of the State Fire Service have arrived at the scene to put out the fire
