Winner of the first edition of Big Brother Naija, Katung Aduwak, is latest dad in the Nigerian entertainment industry, as he just welcomed a baby boy with his wife Raven Taylor-Aduwak.
Sharing the news of his baby’s arrival on Twitter, Katung disclosed that he was born yesterday, Friday, April 13, 2018, at 2:55 pm, and weighed 6.9pounds and 21 inches. The boy has already been christened Zimai-Kalanii Aduwak.
His tweet reads;
2:55pm 13/04/2018 6.9pounds 21 inches. ZIMAI-KALANII my son.
The boy is 8hours old…I just love it
Big Brother Naija which was debuted in 2016 with 14 contestants and boasted of a $100,000 cash prize, was won by Katung Aduwak, while Sandra Osaigbovo amongst others came, in as runners-up.
Other housemates included Gideon Okeke, Francisca Owumi, Maureen Osuji, Frank Konwea.
We all cannot forget that moment when 26-year-old Katung was announced the winner. His win was surprising since he came into the house after the second eviction and won about 80 percent of the tasks. He and his co-housemate, Sandy, were kept in isolation with no external contact and zero access to TV or news for three weeks before being introduced to the show.
Katung proceeded to New York to get a directorial degree from the Digital Film Academy after the reality show, and he returned to Nigeria and worked on several projects. He produced and directed the movies Unwanted Guest and Heaven’s Hell.
He also directed a number of music videos for Chocolate City, Styl Plus, Gabriel Afolayan and starred in EbonyLife TV’s Desperate Housewives.
Of course, many of the housemates have since moved on to various career paths, keeping some in the spot and others out of it. Katung is one of those who has done well but is not so much in the spotlight as would be expected of a BBN winner, unlike Ebuka Obi-Uchendu who still champions BBN as a host.
