The LAPD has taken the suspect of the Man with a Gun radio call at Kaiser Permanente South Bay into custody. At this point, police says they have no evidence of a gun or a shooting.

KAISER HARBOR CITY SHOOTING 2019: WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?

The Los Angeles Police Department this Thursday afternoon responded to reports of a man with a gun in a vehicle at the Kaiser Permanente South Bay Medical Center.

The reports of the armed man inside Harbor City Kaiser was just 2 miles away from LAHC.

Police responded to South Bay Medical Center on the 25000 block of Vermont Avenue shortly after 11 a.m., officials said. The hospital was placed on lockdown as a precaution.

In an update, Officer Drake Madison said the situation does not involve an active shooter, but the medical center is on lockdown.

We responded to reports of a Man with a Gun at Kaiser Permanente South Bay. We are currently on scene searching the area. @KPSouthBay is currently on lock-down as a precaution and they are asking for people on campus to shelter in place. Please avoid the area.

UPDATE: We have taken the suspect of the Man with a Gun radio call at Kaiser Permanente South Bay into custody. At this point, we have no evidence of a gun or a shooting.

Harbor ground police and air units currently have the place on lock down. Shots were reported to be fired near the Physical Therapy Area.

According to unsubstantiated comments on the “Crime in San Pedro” Facebook page the suspect wass assumed to have been attending a radiology appointment at the Hospital.

Roads surrounding the Hospital are blocked.

Stay clear of the area and be safe.
